Flexport is looking for a Communications Manager to join the Global Communications team. You’ll partner with senior business leaders, subject matter experts, and your cross functional peers to build compelling and impactful stories about Flexport’s growth, products, and culture.

At no other time has the global supply chain been more relevant than today. Through a robust thought leadership program, we’ve built Flexport’s platform with existing supply chain audiences, as well as mainstream America via features in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg, and more.

Now it’s time to deepen that story. Flexport is building the leading end-to-end supply chain technology platform that will power the growth of businesses of all sizes. This is a unique opportunity to partner with key business units and tell impactful stories – through owned and earned media channels – to grow Flexport’s brand awareness and drive business growth. You will be part of our Global Communications team, working closely with senior leaders across different business verticals as well as teammates in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and People teams.

You will:

  • Develop and implement 360-degree communications campaigns to support the growth of key business units and position Flexport as a market leader.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to amplify product launches and share expert insights. You will be a trusted storytelling partner for your business units to drive holistic communications and content strategies across channels, including media, podcasts, speaking opportunities, and owned content (such as blogs and newsletters).
  • Maintain relationships with key business, retail, logistics, and tech media. Our small and mighty comms team works with top-tier media around the world.
  • Develop messaging, press materials, long and short-form content, and other supporting documents such as executive briefing books and FAQs.
  • Support internal communications programs such as Global All-Hands and company-wide newsletters to build a positive workplace environment and inspire employees, while aligning with external messaging and strategy.
  • Explore and pursue thought leadership opportunities for Flexport and its senior leaders, such as awards and speaking opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing teams to regularly update the Flexport Blog and Newsroom pages with relevant and compelling news and content.

You should have:

  • 5-7+ years of communications or journalism experience.
  • Proven track record of devising and executing effective communications campaigns to support product launches and build thought leadership for senior leaders.
  • An eloquent verbal communicator with superb written skills, attention to detail, and experience collaborating with executives. You write with personality, and you’re not afraid to show it.
  • A deep understanding of what makes a compelling narrative — both externally and internally — and how to leverage the right owned or earned media channels to shape that narrative.
  • Strong organizational skills: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and you know how to manage complex projects, multiple stakeholders and competing priorities to create an actionable plan and get the most impactful work done.
  • A true team player: you’re always willing to jump in and help out. Flexport is a highly cross-functional company that requires effective collaboration to drive company-wide results.
  • Bias for action: you have a passion for rolling up your sleeves and getting things done on a small but mighty team.
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.
