Crew systems is looking for a talented IT Manager to contribute to and help drive the product strategy as it launches to our user base and build upon it with additional modules, features, and capabilities while we sunset an older platform. IT Manager is responsible for delivering the right solutions on time, within the allocated budget while ensuring that they adhere to technical and operating standards supporting Delta Information Technology.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the Crew Scheduling & other capabilities of Crew Modernization; enhancement of the product through new or existing features as well as additional modules as defined by the business processes
  • Collaborates with product team members (Scrum Master, Engineers, and Product Owners) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions
  • Guides team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across product teams
  • Build and maintain high performing product team through hiring, mentoring, and developing the team members professionally
  • Engage portfolio team and product owners in agile development process including roadmap planning and iteration planning meetings
  • Ensure that appropriate development resources are in place to deliver all business functionality required for new and on-going capital and operating needs
  • Fosters collaboration with team members to drive consistency across product teams
  • Manage the budget associated to Crew roadmap deliverables, and commitments
  • Identify areas of improvement and partner with stakeholders to drive scalable, & reliable solutions
  • Creates meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively
  • Adjusts the team processes, listening to feedback and guiding the team through the changes
  • Owns the production operation and monitoring of the system and is aware of its service level agreements

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 6 or more years of combined experience with IT
    • 5 or more years of experience in roles related to software engineering
  • Strong leadership ability with a track record of developing people and achieving challenging objectives
  • Experienced with leading transformation programs incorporating agile methodologies, disciplines, practices, and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications
  • Knowledge of the products and services regarding cloud platforms; ability to utilize related tools and technologies to develop cloud solutions and deploy applications on cloud platforms
  • Ability to design and create automations that allow for process efficiencies and self-service in the cloud environment
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • A BS/MS degree in a technical, scientific, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience developing relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Experience working with diverse teams located across various locations
  • Functional knowledge of the airline IT processes
  • Highly adaptable, a driver of change, and capable of quickly rallying teams / peer groups
  • Experience with modern technology stacks
  • Experience with mission and business critical applications
