Project Manager

Growth and change are two key areas to better plan and manage. This role will play a key role for Codale's growth journey by utilizing their Project Management skills and experience managing multiple key projects ranging from managing the installation and set-up for new automated CDCs, integration of various systems from acquisitions, and other high-profile projects. Managing a project's schedule is not enough, this role entails owning each phase of a project, managing, tracking and keeping on tasks other key players assigned to those projects, escalating, updating and reporting on the performance of others and overall progress, challenges, solutions during the project life cycle, This would include owning the MS Project file and understand interdependencies, resources, timing, costs, and corporate transformation, you will also be the lead communicator on where we are at, identify key obstacles (and overcome them), contingency plans, work with people/teams to ensure timely completion, and partner with Codale's parent company's main point of contact within our Operating Company (that involve Sonepar).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Two aspects of projects to manage: new building implementation, specifically the packaging of new automation technologies to be rolled into the facility implementation, and secondly, acquisition integration. Both generally will have contact and context with our parent company, Sonepar USA.
  • History of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Past experiences with implementing and project managing automation systems, like Dematic, Knapp, Autostore, Locus Robotics, etc., and/or company integrations of acquisitions. Company culture and process changes.
  • Excellent communication to effectively share vision, goals, ideas, issues, and status reports/presentations. Ability to motivate others with positive reinforcement, praise, and team-building activities. Good technical writing that is clear/easy to understand while keeping high-level details. This is one of the most important skills for the project manager to be at the intersection of complex, high-stakes projects.
  • Strong leadership to work with other leaders to oversee/coordinate tasks, motivate, encourage, and ensure project success.
  • Organizational skills that ensure processes are working smoothly, achieving goals, prioritizing tasks, and documenting everything for easy access/future reference. Ability to multitask.
  • Effective negotiation skills to find the right compromises/alternatives and manage interpersonal conflicts.
  • Team management: Bring a team together and move them in one direction. Delegate responsibilities/ensure the proper team achieves responsibilities, handle conflicts, evaluate performances, and coach team members/bring to the attention of managers.
  • Time Management: Develop and maintain the project timeline and ensure deadlines are met. Understand contingency planning/risk management and always have alternatives to keep a project moving.
  • Structured approach to solving problems, problem-solving skills. Gather data, and information, and weigh pros/cons to provide alternatives for review and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with parent company, but also understand Codale's positions, resources, activities, etc., to not just say "yes," but also to ensure parent company resources are completing assigned tasks on time, and on budget.
  • Empathy in acquisition integration, working with others, and balanced approach to potentially high-stress/tension situations.
  • Experiences and/or interest in facilities management a plus

Required Qualifications & Expectations:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, Project Management Certifications, such as PMP, CAPM, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP, and or A-CSPO Certification.
  • Knowledge of Logistics, Supply Chain, Automation, or Business Management, or equivalent work experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of management experience, preferably managing Project Management Teams of various disciplines achieving increasing responsibilities.
  • 5 years in project management and acquisition integration.
  • Experience supporting Facilities & Real Estate activities a plus.
  • Experience in Automation Systems preferred, ideally within wholesale, retail or Logistics Fulfillment or Distribution Centers, particularly AutoStore, Dematic or Swisslog (other systems like Knapp, Daifuku, etc., can be considered).
  • Experiences and ability to use data to drive change and improvement. Development and setting of KPIs for project status.
  • Able to demonstrate being a strategic thinker and hands-on problem solver who possesses integrity and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively drive a culture of accountability for results.
  • Familiarity with Lean / DMAIC principles, TQM, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma, and other warehousing best practices.
  • Elevated level of business acumen, including creating and managing a large capital budget, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with people at all levels and to generate agreement and results.
  • Ability to consolidate operational details and effectively communicate with high-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to achieve business results through influence, executive presence, strategic thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient use of MS Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet.

  • Frequent use of phone, computer, and period use of automated equipment
  • Able to travel as needed.
