Job Description

As one of the world's premier cancer centers, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is committed to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education. Facilities Design & Construction (D&C) is committed to excellence in planning, designing, and constructing facilities that support the MSK’s mission. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our innovative Construction and Design team. In this role, you will plan, direct, coordinate, manage, and implement the assigned design and construction projects

You will:

  • Assists and collaborates on project feasibility studies
  • Oversee the development of a detailed budget for the project during the project planning phase. Update the project budget on a regular basis as required by the project team
  • Oversee the development, coordination, and management of the schedule of their project.
  • Identifies and reports all budget and schedule risks and variances and identifies potential mitigation strategies for review by the Project Director as required
  • Provides effective communication with End users throughout the entire construction process.
  • Continually make on-site inspections during the course of the project, evaluating schedule in terms of actual field progress and ensuring that all appropriate details of projects are communicated between contractors and users
  • Attend and/or schedule project meetings and ensure that minutes are documented
  • Prepares, issues, levels, and makes appropriate recommendations for contract bidders in compliance with MSK Procurement Policies
  • Coordinate relocations and/or isolation of utilities as the need arises
  • Facilitate the interface between outside personnel and vendors with MSKCC personnel for actions such as inspections, testing, shutdowns, etc.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team and serve as a resource to internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects
  • Ensure accurate filing of all applications and permits associated with the construction project, making sure it meets all Federal, State, and City regulations
  • Project assignments may include reporting relationships to multiple D&C directors
  • The role will also require the supervision of outside design consultants, as well as consultant project managers.

You have:

  • 7+ years of construction experience, ideally in architectural, engineering, or healthcare construction.
  • Experience in large institutional or commercial projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiations, budget management, and construction law.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical renderings.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in information management and data analysis.
  • New York State Architectural License and PE License are advantageous, CAD abilities are a plus.
