The AIG (Analytical Instruments Group) Clean Energy team is newly formed and supports the portfolio of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD). We provide strategic direction, market intelligence, industry knowledge & workflow expertise, to deliver impactful cross-divisional market development, business development, and marketing initiatives that drive portfolio evolution, sales growth, and capture share in target segments of Battery, Hydrogen, and Solar segments.

The Chemical Analysis business provides a broad mix of analytical instruments and services to a diverse range of end-user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Life Sciences, Medical, Energy, Spectroscopy and Minerals and Mining. Its instruments are deployed globally in the field and on the line, in results-oriented environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. The Chemical Analysis business operates within a global footprint with more than 4,000 colleagues, delivering product solutions to customers that allow for confident, on-the-spot decision-making. CAD is part of the Analytical Instruments group and is comprised of three business units:

We are seeking a Senior Market Development Manager to drive the growth of our products in the target segments. You will be responsible for identifying expansion opportunities, analyzing market data, and developing strategic plans aligned with our business objectives.

Division: Analytical Instruments Group (AIG), supporting the portfolio of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD)

Location: Remote - Europe or North America (upper 48 states); one position posted in multiple locations.

Reporting to: Director, Clean Energy

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and alignment of strategic market development plans, ensuring effective presentation and socialization.

Capture customer voice, needs, and priorities to advise Clean Energy decision-making.

Develop clear segmentation models for customers and markets.

Compile competitive intelligence to build compelling value propositions.

Guide and provide input to the Strategic Long-Range Planning (STRAP) process and product prioritization process.

Target, develop and maintain key opinion leaders and strategic partnerships to deliver business value through collaborative agreements.

Bring deep expertise in the target markets to advise on strategy and initiatives. Use your industry knowledge to build inorganic acquisition proposals (M&A) and pipelines.

Collaborate with all business units and divisions to provide comprehensive solutions.

Develop inspirational stories to showcase the values of our portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field. A higher degree or business qualification is advantageous.
  • 3+ years of industrial experience in one of the target markets of Battery, Hydrogen, or Solar
  • Proven track record of market development experience, developing and implementing growth initiatives to drive measurable business performance.
  • A willingness to travel up to 30%, including internationally.

Desirable attributes

You will have a strong customer orientation and the ability as an effective communicator to articulate customer value propositions, market insights, and technical industry knowledge.

Familiar with leading and influencing others in a matrix organizational structure you will also demonstrate adaptability to dynamic and changing environments.

Comfortable in building business strategy with analytical reasoning and sound financial competence.
